Everything you need to produce a mic’d up video
July 15, 2022
Mic’d up videos are extremely popular with sports fans. The most popular videos on the NFL, NHL and NBA YouTube channels are typically mic’d up videos. It’s a great opportunity for fans to be a fly on the wall during games. And by the way, these videos also happen to be hilarious.
⬇️ Case and point ⬇️
Mic’d up videos are dangerous
If you’re a sports videographer and would like to produce your own mic’d up video, you should know that the most important thing is safety (audio quality coming in as a close second). Safety for the player and safety for your equipment as well. For that reason, you need to make sure that the audio equipment you attach to the player won’t fall off or even move. Which is much easier said than done.
Equipment list
First thing first, here’s a list of equipment that I recommend for the perfect mic’d up video kit:
DJI Mic
Shure MVL Omnidirectional Condenser Lavalier Microphone
ChromLives Microphone Lapel Dead Cat Windscreen
SPT Vest
These are the items that I personally use, but if you’d like to take a look at various options for different budgets, here are some of my recommendations 🎤 MIC'D UP VIDEO KIT 🎤
