My Life As… A Racing Legend

Since 1861 the Melbourne Cup has captured the imaginations of Australians. Each year on the first Tuesday of November the nation stops to witness the making of racing legends.

But where do our racing heroes go when they stop competing? Living Legends in the outskirts of Melbourne not only provides a fantastic home for Melbourne Cup and Cox Plate champions, but it also gives the public a chance to meet their heroes.

A visit to Living Legends lets people see that each of these horses have their own unique characteristics, personalities and stories.

Join us as we meet some of Australia’s all-time great racehorses. From the record breaking Melbourne Cup, Cox Plate and Caulfield Cup champion Might and Power, to cup winners Rogan Josh and Brew. We also rub shoulders with the ever popular Apache Cat.

Living Legends veterinary director Andrew Clarke takes us behind the scenes and shares some of the powerful stories of these Living Legends who have captured the hearts and minds of so many Australians.
