Wallabies fan letter creates storm.
A self described ‘pleb’ and ‘nobody’ has penned a passionate letter to Wallabies coach Michael Cheika in the wake of their shock loss to Scotland.
Wallabies fan letter is a hit
Jack Quigley’s late night Facebook rant has now had over 42,000 likes.
The 29 year old Rugby player and coach from Lismore’s letter has certainly connected with scores of other fans.
I personally think Quigley’s letter is a work of art. Especially considering he’d consumed a few frothies prior to typing it.
The Coach Responds
The letter worked as Wallabies coach Michael Cheika gave Jack a call today as he could relate to a lot of the issues Jack touched upon.
“I spoke to the gentleman and gave him a ring, because why not?” Cheika told reporters today.
“I think that’s important, that you talk to the fans.”
“When we come out to pressers and say we want to make the fans proud it’s not lip service, we do.
“We’re not perfect at it sometimes.”
“I think that he expressed how he was feeling after the (Scotland) game and I don’t think it’s too far away from what some of us were feeling as well,” Cheika said.
“(It) was pretty confronting for a few of the guys, if they hadn’t seen it, because it was pretty heavy in some ways.”
I love the fact that Cheika took the time out to contact Jack. Whilst the loss to Scotland was a tough one, the squad has been very unsettled.
I’m expecting the lads to lift for the August to October tests between New Zealand, South Africa and Argentina. If they don’t, we could have a Bledisloe Cup slaughter on our hands.
