Tennis stars taking over Sports Illustrated

Eugenie Bouchard, Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki have certainly been busy in the weeks following the Australian Open. All three are amongst the tennis stars taking over Sports Illustrated.

They’ve hit the beach recently to be part of the magazine’s world famous swimsuit edition.

Eugenie Bouchard

Eugenie will be looking to get back into the Top 10 and showed some positive signs with some good tennis in Brisbane and Melbourne in January.

Serena Williams

Serena has been doing even better. At 35 she is playing some of the best tennis of her career.

Nobody could go close to stopping her at the Australian Open, where she won her 23rd Grand Slam title.

Caroline Wozniacki

Former world number 1 Caroline Wozniacki was also part of the popular tennis edition. Caroline is quite a regular at the Sports Illustrated photoshoots though. Last year she was part of the body paint swimsuit edition.

For Wozniacki it’s been a mixed year after a public spat with her ex-fiancee golf star Rory McIlroy.

Maria Sharapova

One player who didn’t appear in the issue was Maria Sharapova. Maria is no doubt focusing on her tennis as she prepares for her return from a drug ban.

There are talks that she may be offered a wild card to play at Wimbledon, which we believe will almost certainly happen. It will be interesting to see if Sharapova can return to her form of old and give Serena a run for her money.
