It has been an interesting 2017 for Canadian tennis star Eugenie Bouchard.
Whilst she showed some glimpses of good form during the early stages of the Aussie Open, she struggled for much of the remainder of the year. Bouchard has seen her ranking slip to outside the Top 80.
Then there was a big public spat with rival Maria Sharapova following the controversial Russian’s return from a drug ban.
She then did some Baywatch and Bondi Rescue action.
She even lost a bet which led to a date with some bloke off Twitter.
Genie Bouchard wakeboarding wipeout
Bouchard has been enjoying some much needed down time in Florida when she decided to have a crack at wakeboarding.
So is there a chance she could be switching sports?
Judging by this epic stack probably not.
Let’s just say we won’t be seeing her carving up the Yarra River at the Moomba weekend anytime soon.
2018 Australian Open
Bouchard will be keen for the 2018 Australian Open to come around. She is still only 23 years old and is more than capable of playing good tennis. We saw that this year when she beat Maria Sharapova in a fiery encounter.
Let’s hope the Genie Army can fire up the Canadian and get her back onto the winners list at Melbourne Park.
