Former UFC fighter faces life in prison. War Machine (Jonathan Paul Koppenhaver) could be spending the rest of his life in prison after being found guilt of more than two dozen assault charges.

The charges were in connection to Koppenhaver’s assault of his ex-girlfriend, porn star Christy Mackinday. Koppenhaver was convicted on a total of 29 counts by a Las Vegas jury and faces up to life in prison.

The verdict ends a two-week trial for the 35-year-old, who legally changed his name to War Machine (as you do). He opted to stick with his birth name in court.

He was accused of attacking both his ex-girlfriend Christy Mack and her friend Corey Thomas, who he beat up before attacking the actress for two hours in 2014.

The photos of Mackinday in the aftermath of the attack are very disturbing.

Christy Mackinday’s Story

Mackinday said that she was abused on countless occasions during her relationship with War Machine.

“He became abusive about four to five months in, but by that time I was totally in love with him,” Mackinday told ESPN.

“So, so in love. The first time I thought, oh it’ll never happen again. The day after, he stayed home from training and coddled me. After every time he would hit me, those were the best days of our relationship.”

Mackinday has since been on the receiving end of vile Internet abuse from some of War Machine’s UFC fans.

Mack suffered a lacerated liver in the final attack on her and her friend Corey Thomas. Also a broken nose, missing teeth and a fractured eye socket.

The Courtroom

War Machine was seen shaking his head in the courtroom as the verdict was read.
