Anastasia Marinakou is a Greek long distance runner and good friend of BeyondTheGame.TV. In 2015 she was named one of Greece’s top athletes after recording three national track records.
Late last year, Anastasia risked everything leaving her friends and family to move down under where she is working very hard towards her Olympic dream under the supervision of Australian coach Nic Bideau.
Well Deserved Break
At the moment, Anastasia Marinakou is back home in Greece where she’s enjoying some well deserved R&R.
2017 European Athletics U23 Championships
Earlier last month Anastasia was representing Greece at the 2017 European Athletics U23 Championships taking place in Poland.
The 21 year old competed in the 1,500 meter race where she finished 14th in her heat. Unfortunately that wasn’t enough to make the final.
We first met Anastasia Marinakou earlier this year while she was competing in the revolutionary Nitro Athletics series in Melbourne.
She is a young beautiful woman full of potential and drive, with a such a great positive energy. She reminded me a bit of Michelle Jenneke in a way.
Anastasia Marinakou is Back
I hope Anastasia Marinakou won’t be chilling out in Greece too long. She’s so close to her Olympic dream with the Tokyo games as her target.
Keep an eye on this future star, she’s going places!
